Wedding Planning in Queenstown & Wanaka

Naomi & Rob’s Simple Queenstown Wedding

Posted: March 1st, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , | No Comments »

Another Wine House Wedding, Naomi & Rob had already booked most things, including Fredrik for their photography. It was only a month until their wedding, but Naomi was beginning to feel a little overwhelmed with the planning from over seas. She and Rob lived in Queensland Australia, and she had a demanding job as a senior lawyer.

The relief she said she felt once she handed over control to me was amazing. She was finally able to sleep at night and look forward to her special day. I loved being there and ensuring she was happy.

Smita & Glen’s Alternative Queenstown Wedding

Posted: February 15th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , | No Comments »

Smita and Glenn live in Queenstown and although they had some spare time, they weren’t sure of anything when it came to planning their own wedding, so they called me.

I met with them both at their home at Kelvin Heights and we carried out the consultation. Smita is English with an Indian background and Glenn is a kiwi. They didn’t want the Hindu culture to take over the wedding, but they were keen for it to have some influence.

Leanne & Craig Beautiful Vintage Wedding

Posted: December 22nd, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , | No Comments »

This was by far one of my most favourite weddings to plan and also one of the loveliest couples I’d ever had the pleasure of working for. Although Leanne and Craig lived in Queenstown, like a lot of couples who engage my services they both had highly demanding jobs and they also travelled a lot for work, so planning their own wedding would have been extremely hard. Plus, whilst they knew what they did and didn’t want, they struggled to execute any decisions on their own.

Hayleigh & Luke’s glamorous queenstown wedding

Posted: November 21st, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , | No Comments »

Hayleigh and Luke lived in Adelaide in Australia, but Hayleigh was originally from Nelson, New Zealand, hence one of the reasons to marry here. They had already booked most of their wedding arrangements, including my husband Fredrik Larsson of Larsson Photography for photography, but needed some advice for a few things along the way as well as on the day support.

Now Hayleigh was quite possibly one of my most organised brides and she certainly had an eye for design and detail. With the help of myself and the florist, she brought together one of the most gorgeous looking weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. She even went as far as shipping numerous boxes of props and accessories over from Australia – opening them was like Christmas had come early!

Hayley & Allen’s sophisticated wedding

Posted: November 14th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

Local couple Hayley and Allen were referred to me by a another of their wedding suppliers. They were already well and truly knee deep in planning their own wedding, but had hit a few hic ups and needed some support both in the planning and on the day.

I met with them at their Queenstown home for their consultation and they were quickly at ease with the assurances and advise I gave them. They soon changed florist to one whom I recommended and also saved money in the process. Then they booked the transport company I frequently work with, which also came in at a lot less than all 3 of the quotes she had sourced previously on her own. In her own words, ‘I was paying for myself in savings I helped organise’! – Needless to say I felt pretty chuffed as nothing gives me greater pleasure than being able to help and saving clients money!

Vicki & David’s Mt Soho Wedding

Posted: January 5th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , | No Comments »

Another locally based couple, Vicki and David were more than able to plan their own wedding and in a lot of ways, they did. They simply needed some direction, a sounding board and someone to give them confidence with their own decisions. When Vicki first contacted me, I recall she was quite nervous about handing over one of the biggest days of her life to a complete stranger. We spoke at length on that first call, and then after the consultation at their Arrowtown home, she felt reassured that using my service was not going to eliminate any of her involvement or ideas. On the contrary, we worked as a team and during the process we became friends.

Leigh-Anne & Andrew’s Vineyard Wedding

Posted: April 5th, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

I’ll never forget this wedding, not least because it was the first time I dealt mainly with the groom, Andrew! I first met Andrew at Christchurch Airport where we held the consultation, – yes Christchurch Airport! He was flying back to Hamilton from Queenstown, and I was on my way back to Queenstown having been in Christchurch meeting with suppliers – so it made sense! No one can say that a wedding planner doesn’t live a jet set life now! Christchurch today – next year New York! ?? Oh, I digress, sorry!

Amelia & Fraser’s Winehouse Wedding

Posted: March 29th, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , | No Comments »

Quite possibly one of the most workaholic couples I’ve ever met, it was pretty hard to pin these guys down! Which needless to say, was a huge catalyst for them contacting me in the first place.

We first met when they visited Otago where we had their consultation followed by a visit to several venues I thought may be of interest for their reception. Their first choice was mine too, The Wine House & Kitchen, which has since become my most frequently used venue of all my weddings.

Fiona & Lee’s Stoneridge Wedding

Posted: March 23rd, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

Fiona and Lee live in Sydney Australia, but as Lee is a kiwi they decided to get married over here and where better than Queenstown! They hadn’t a clue where to get started, but after my consultation with them, I was able to present a few different venue options and ideas for their day. Fiona and Lee wanted a very simply wedding, and weren’t too worried about fussing on the non essential parts. They preferred to stick to the basics – great venue with good food and wine! They chose Stoneridge Estate for the ceremony and reception for the backdrop of all backdrops!

Zoe & Tony’s Lakes Hayes Wedding

Posted: February 12th, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , | No Comments »

I first met Zoe and Tony at Zoe’s parents home at Lake Hayes. It was clear why they both wanted the wedding there, as the views were unsurpassable from the home, overlooking the lake and mountains. I’m just glad that their lounge was able to seat 100 guests – and so was Zoe!

Zoe and Tony got married on the 8th February 2008. Zoe arrived at the ceremony by car, having spent the morning at Millbrook where she got ready with her bridesmaids.
