Deanna & Simon’s English Country Garden Wedding in Wanaka

My last wedding for the 2010 summer wedding season was possibly my biggest. An absolutely gorgeous couple, Deanna and Simon engaged my help around August 2009. They wanted a wedding at Rippon but were cautious about the work involved with it being a marquee.

My involvement was full for their wedding, from organising the stationary, which was designed and produced by the talented Kate Holland of Ruby & Willow, to the de-rig the day after and even organising he shipping of their wedding gifts to London.

Lanee & David’s Black & White Themed Wanaka Wedding

Posted: March 23rd, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , | No Comments »

I met Lanee and David on Skype for their initial consultation, as they were based in Perth and had no immediate plans to visit the area. David had frequently holidayed in the area, hence they wanted to get married here too.

I presented several options for their wedding venue and they chose The Venue, which both Fredrik and I used to run. They organised their own stationary and set up a website to update guests with more information as and when , on travel, accommodation, gifts and the following day BBQ

Jo & Simon’s Relaxed Wanaka Wedding

Posted: March 10th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , , | No Comments »

Jo & Simon were a delight to work with. Simon was more involved with my communication than Jo, he was clearly an organised chap and possible equally pedantic to me – which I loved! They also had a gorgeous daughter whom took up a lot of their time and were getting married at a venue which had no onsite support or facilities.

I helped organise some hireage saving some money for them and gave them a heap of advice on various aspects of their day. Read the rest of this entry »

Smita & Glen’s Alternative Queenstown Wedding

Smita and Glenn live in Queenstown and although they had some spare time, they weren’t sure of anything when it came to planning their own wedding, so they called me.

I met with them both at their home at Kelvin Heights and we carried out the consultation. Smita is English with an Indian background and Glenn is a kiwi. They didn’t want the Hindu culture to take over the wedding, but they were keen for it to have some influence.

Amy & Lance Contemporary & Elegant Wanaka Wedding

Posted: January 30th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , , | No Comments »

Amy and Lance had been recommended to me by their celebrant who realized they needed some extra assistance. They were getting married at a local private home, Mantells followed by reception at Missy’s Restaurant in town.

I met them both during one of their visits to Wanaka to plan their day. They certainly knew what they wanted but having demanding jobs and building their own house at the same time was taking it’s toll on wedding plans. Read the rest of this entry »

Chris & Laura’s Dragonfly Ball in Cromwell

Posted: January 29th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , , , , | No Comments »

Laura had been a bridesmaid for a bride whose wedding I helped plan a year earlier and it was great to have a new booking as a result of her experiencing my work. I met Laura and her mum in Wanaka around 18 months prior to her envisaged wedding date to go through the consultation.

Laura and Chris lived in Perth and were really hard to get hold of, so they left me in charge of most things. That said, Laura’s family was extremely talented and creative, so I made use of their offer to help when ever it seemed appropriate.

Angie & Mark’s Hill Top Wedding at Kaka Point

Posted: January 5th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

One of my furthest away weddings, Angie and Mark were getting married at Kaka Point – on the 5th January 2010! They lived in Sydney, and had recently had a baby when they found me through a friend of theirs.

They wanted to plan most things themselves, with the help of Mark’s mum who lived at Kaka Point, but came to me for advise when they got stuck. I also travelled to Kaka Point and spent two nights there so I could help with the ceremony plans as well as on the day setting up. Read the rest of this entry »

Leanne & Craig Beautiful Vintage Wedding

Posted: December 22nd, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , | No Comments »

This was by far one of my most favourite weddings to plan and also one of the loveliest couples I’d ever had the pleasure of working for. Although Leanne and Craig lived in Queenstown, like a lot of couples who engage my services they both had highly demanding jobs and they also travelled a lot for work, so planning their own wedding would have been extremely hard. Plus, whilst they knew what they did and didn’t want, they struggled to execute any decisions on their own.

Tess & Bryce’s Beach Wedding in Wanaka

Posted: April 12th, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , , , | No Comments »

Ah! What a gorgeous young couple and one of the loveliest families I’ve ever worked with! Following a recommendation, Tess and Bryce came to meet Fredrik and I with Tess’s parents, Phil and Penny and don’t think I laughed so much as we did at that first meeting. The love and laughter was purely contagious and there were no doubts about why this pair were tying the knot!

Fiona & Lee’s Stoneridge Wedding

Posted: March 23rd, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: Weddings | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

Fiona and Lee live in Sydney Australia, but as Lee is a kiwi they decided to get married over here and where better than Queenstown! They hadn’t a clue where to get started, but after my consultation with them, I was able to present a few different venue options and ideas for their day. Fiona and Lee wanted a very simply wedding, and weren’t too worried about fussing on the non essential parts. They preferred to stick to the basics – great venue with good food and wine! They chose Stoneridge Estate for the ceremony and reception for the backdrop of all backdrops!
